Looking for the ultimate wine country experience right here on Long Island's bucolic East End?
Look no further than Wine Camp, sponsored by the Long Island Wine Country B&B Group. For four days and three nights, you'll live the Long Island wine life. You'll work the fields, learn tasting technique, blend wines along side some of the best local winemakers and explore food and wine pairing.
It's not cheap at $749 per person, double occupancy but the package includes three nights at one of four B&Bs, breakfast each morning, lunch in the vineyards, dinner at The Fifth Season, and a multi-course food and wine pairing dinner event to round out the festivities at Castello di Borghese.
You'll also go home with a case of Long Island Wine, an autographed copy of Louisa Thomas Hargrave's book, The Vineyard, and a certificate ready for framing.
Some of the wineries that have participated in the past include Bedell Cellars, Castello di Borghese, Jamesport Vineyards, The Lenz Winery, Peconic Bay Winery and The Old Field Vineyards.
Wine Camp is being held April 27-30 and June
20-23 with future dates to be announced.

That sounds like an incredible program. I so wish I could afford to do that...thanks for the link. I'm still going to read up on it.

What an incredible idea! As far as I know, there's no such camp amongst Ontario wineries. But if I attend the Long Island wine camp, would I need a green card to "work" in the fields? ;-)

We just came back from Wine Camp #7, June 20th to June 23rd, and it was a GREAT experience!!
The weather was fantasic, the food was great, the wine was wonderful, and plentiful, and our fellow Campers were like close friends by the end of the first day.
The Camp was well run and highly organized. The nine wineries we visited put on great programs, explaining everything you need to know about the art of making, drinking, and enjoying WINE.
I recommend this "experience" to anyone & everyone who enjoys wine. The North Fork of Long Island is a beautiful place to visit, with lots of other activities to fill out this four (4) day experience.
