Lenn, from what I've heard 2005 should be an incredible year for Finger Lakes reds. Unlike most summers in Upstate New York, we were treated to rain followed by hot and balmy weather. The lakes themselves were ridculously warm all throughout the region, which is quite a feat for this area! Ripeness is not an issue with this batch.

While I think whites do well here, I've never been tempted to buy a lot in the way of reds. This year, if the funds are present, I'm going to buy as many reds with 2005 on the lable as possible. Hey, it's cheaper than French or Californian wine...

YES! finally you mention my hands down favorite winery in the Finger Lakes!
their reds are good (i especially like the cab franc), but it's their gewurtztraminer that is the stand out, blow your top, dazzler (the reisling is excellent too).
