I felt great reading your article, because I had actually heard of the St. Pepin grape! There was a pretty informative article in the previous issue of Winemaker Magazine about the Swenson grapes. It's worth searching out.

From a grapegrowers perspective it is the one varietal that completely self manages in the vineyard and suffers no diseases. You could go away in May and return to harvest in October.
