Rating System

For LENNDEVOURS, I've adopted the 5-star system proposed by Tim over at Winecast as a standard for wine blogs. It includes half-stars for more granularity as well. Some of you have also demanded that I offer something that related this star system to the 100-point scale, so I've tried to do that here.

Please keep in mind that I still believe that the most important part of any review is the commentary. The words. The experience that the wine is a part of. With that in mind, I won't be making the star-based ratings prominent on the reviews. They are a tool, not a be-all-end-all.

The price listed within each review is the full retail price at the winery. Most of the time, the wine can be found for lower prices at retail outlets.

I do accept wine samples from wineries and trade organizations, as they enable me to cover New York State wine more comprehensively.

Any wine marked with an * on the price was received as a press sample.
