First of all, Lenn, nice choice of bubbly. Deutz was one of those wines that I grew up drinking in the 70s as our special-event kind of Champagne. When I was a late teen, my family would wake to Champagne, croissants (usually made by me) and smoked salmon. And Deutz was more often than not our choice. I think it's a food friendly Champagne, but is toasty enough for the drinker used to california sparklers.
