I rarely do "preview" posts, because I really don't think you care what I'm going to do any given weekend. But, tomorrow night I'm doing something that I'm excited about, whether you care or not. Haha.
Today is Nena's birthday and Saturday is her baby shower in upstate New York. So, tomorrow after work, we're heading north, and stopping off at Blue Hill at Stone Barns for dinner with our friends M and T.
Blue Hill is a restaurant that I've wanted to visit for quite some time now, but scheduling has always been difficult, until I realized we could stop on the way to visit Nena's family in Schoharie, NY. It's about halfway between if my estimate is correct.
This is chef Dan Barber's second Blue Hill restaurant (the original being in Greenwich Village) and it combines restaurant, farm and educational center. I hear that the grounds are beautiful, but we'll probably arrive after dark and won't get to enjoy them.
I have a feeling we'll enjoy the meal and that you'll hear all about it early next week.
When will our paths stop ALMOST crossing? We had our anniversary dinner at Blue Hill a couple of weeks ago. I would strongly recommend the Farmer's Feast - a chef selected tasting menu - and I would suggest the wine pairing as well. Dollar for dollar it is reasonably priced, although the final bill is still huge. Oh, and give yourself about three hours for this one!
