Tonight I have another fun announcement to make. On April 25, I'll be judging the Hudson Valley Wine & Grape Association's 5th Annual Hudson Valley Wine Competition.
The judging will take place that day at Terrapin in Rhinebeck, NY from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with lunch in there somewhere. Then, on June 12 there is a wine dinner featuring the winning wines.
Those are really the only details I have right now, but I'm sure I'll learn more between now and then.
I've seen the results of this competition before, but I'm not sure who runs it. Any idea? Also, let us know if you hear who the other judges are.

Thank you Lenn for judging! The info for the competition will be posted on the hvwga's website this weekend. The documents are also available at http://tinyurl.com/dxhboj. Lunch will follow the competition @ Terrapin.
The Hudson Valley Wine & Culinary Food Pairing Dinner will take place on June 12, @ Terripan Catering located at the Dinsmore Golf Course on Rt. 9 in Staatsburg. The winning wines will be paired with Haut cuisine. A great way to have some wonderful wine, great food and meet and mingle with the Hudson Valley winemakers and winery owners.

I've eaten at the Terrapin. I was impressed by the food and I recall that they had a good wine list.

Damn and I'm still sticking it out judging on the amateur circuit. How many sugar beet wines can one taste before their gag reflex kicks in?
Congrats and stick to your palate guns!
