There are people making cheese out there. There's a Finger Lakes Cheese trail now.

Two years ago I visited several cheese makers between Cayuga and Seneca Lakes. Memorable were the cheeses at Taber Hill Farms (I think it's Finger Lakes Farmstead Cheese)for their Red Meck and their Schuyler cheeses; and Cow Lick Creamery, where you can't be sure what he's got because it depends on what he feels like making, but I bought a wheel of Camembert that was memorable.

Haven't had anything form Cow Lick Creamery. Will have to check it out the next time I am up there. Thanks for the comment and suggestion!

The collaboration between the Finger Lakes Cheese Trail and the Keuka Lake Wine Trail this past April for a new wine trail event was a huge win in my opinion, and I hope they will continue with events of that quality in the future. We purchased as much cheese as wine!
