Grower Champagnes and sparkling wines are those produced by the same estate that owns the vineyards and grows the grapes. While the large Champagne houses may use grapes sourced from the entire Champagne Region producing large quantities of big name bubbles, Grower Wines are characterized by small production artisanal winemaking with terroir -- the idea that the weather, soil, and environmental influences gives a vineyard an identifiable character -- being at the forefront for each wine.
Join us Saturday, April 21 from 6 - 8 p.m. for a unique tasting of Champagnes and Sparkling Wines produced from the grapes owned and grown by the estate.
Learn about the concept of terroir as our panel of grape growers, winemakers, sommeliers, and industry experts lead a discussion and tasting of these unique Grower sparkling wines.
A cheese board will accompany the tasting, sponsored by Sprout Creek Farms and First and South Restaurant in Greenport.
